Welcome to Maple Crossing
A story-driven snail mail club, delivered monthly. Wrong box, right heart.
The mail gets interesting around here.
Maple Crossing is a monthly snail mail club built around a fictional small town and the people who live there.
Every month, Maple Crossing lands in your mailbox with stories, town happenings, whispers, clues and a few things that may not make sense until later.
Someone's looking for work. Someone's keeping a secret. And Cli has been unusually quiet, which is rarely a good sign.
You'll get to know the people, pick up the threads and sometimes have a say in what happens next.A receipt may tell you something nobody has mentioned yet. A flyer may announce an event. A handwritten note may have landed in entirely the wrong box.
So keep your mail. Pay attention.
Somewhere along the way, this story-by-mail experience stops feeling like a story you're reading. It starts feeling like a town you know.

The story continues from month to month and sometimes residents get to influence what happens next.
Who is Maple Crossing for?
Maple Crossing is for people who love stories, real letters, little mysteries and having something unexpected to look forward to.
- It might be for the person who still checks the mailbox hoping there’s something besides a bill.
- The reader who loves getting to know a cast of characters.
- The stationery lover.
- The cozy small-town person.
- The puzzle-and-clue person.
- Someone who would enjoy a little connection and something new to look forward to each month.
- The mom and daughter who follow the story together.
- The friend who is impossible to buy for.
- Or someone who could simply use a little more delight showing up at their door.
Each month brings a new Maple Crossing story along with letters, recipes, receipts, photographs, notices, invitations, clues and other pieces of town life. Residents can also vote on town matters, follow clues and join online workshops, seasonal activities and other gatherings.
Enjoy it on your own or share it with someone you love. Read the story, join in as much, or as little, as you like, and watch the town unfold.
Do I have to start with the first story?
No. Your story starts when you arrive. Every new resident receives a Welcome to Maple Crossing packet first. After that, you’ll begin receiving the current town mail.
You don’t need backstory or a stack of old mail to understand what’s happening. But if you’re curious about what happened before you arrived, past stories will be available to listen to.
Join anytime. Maple Crossing will meet you where the story is now.
What comes in the Welcome Packet?
Our Welcome Packet introduces you to Maple Crossing and includes your town map and your own mailbox key to P.O. Box #317. It ships the next business day.
What comes every month?
That depends on what's happening in town. Every mailing includes a Postmaster's Note, Community Bulletin Board, and Events Calendar. Beyond that, you may receive letters, recipes, receipts, notices, photographs, flyers, invitations, ballots, classifieds and other pieces of Maple Crossing life. The surprise is part of the experience.
Is Maple Crossing interactive fiction?
Yes, although you don't need to know anything about interactive fiction to enjoy it. You can simply read your Maple Crossing mail each month. Or you can look for clues, scan QR codes, vote on town decisions, join resident activities and occasionally help shape what happens next.
You decide how far into the story you want to step.
Is it a mystery?
Sometimes. There are secrets, clues and story threads worth paying attention to, but Maple Crossing isn't a puzzle you have to solve correctly. You can investigate every scrap of paper or simply make a cup of tea and enjoy the story. Both kinds of residents are welcome here.
Do I have to participate in activities?
No. Votes, online gatherings, workshops and other resident activities are invitations, not assignments. Participate in whatever sounds enjoyable and skip anything that doesn't.
Are online activities included?
Activities marked with a 🔑 key are included for residents unless otherwise noted. Check the Events calendar for current activities and details.
Can I listen instead of read?
Yes. Monthly story mail includes QR codes that allow residents to listen to audio versions of the story and the latest Whisper from Maple Crossing.
